Pool Care Instructions
Caring for your CrystalWorX pool finish is as easy as maintaining your pool water chemistry and brushing and vacuuming your pool on a regular basis.
- To protect the CrystalWorX Limited Lifetime Warranty, we recommend that you, or the pool-care professional you use for pool chemistry maintenance.
- document and save the results of your chemical tests.
- If you are maintaining your own pool it will be helpful, in addition to taking the readings to balance your water chemistry according to the Langelier Saturation Index. You may use the equation to calculate it yourself, or use an on-line calculator.
- our online calculator can be found here: Langelier Saturation Index
- A number of pool supply retail stores offer free computerized water testing to help you monitor these factors. They can advise you on the adjustment and recommend products to help with chemical maintenance and help with any challenges that may arise.
- CrystalWorX recommends the use of TropiClear Maintenance Chemicals and Lo-Chlor Specialty Chemicals for best results.
- If you prefer, you may engage a Pool Service Professional to make regular visits to your pool to test and treat the water at you poolside.
- Ask your pool builder or CrystalWorX installer to recommend a Pool Service Pro or retail tore in your neighborhood.
- Do not chlorinate your pool until water is filtered and pH and alkalinity are acceptable.
- chlorine is highly reactive and can cause metals or minerals to precipitate (cloud water, scale and/or stain).
- We recommend that for the first 30 days pH and alkalinity be monitored very closely as they can directly affect the appearance of the surface.
- the darker your pool finish, the more imperative it is to follow these instructions carefully.
- Please be aware that it is normal to have to adjust your pH 2-3 times per week for the first 4 weeks until the pH is stabilized.
- during this time it might help to maintain levels of pH, alkalinity and calcium hardness toward the lower end of the index.
- After 30 days, the pool water should be checked 1-2 times per week and adjusted as needed to maintain proper levels. Refer to CrystalWorx Start-up Proceedures for details.
- Using the following products on a regular basis will help keep your CrystalWorX pool beautiful and inviting for years to come:
- Sequestering Agent - recommended as a stain preventative when filling a newly plastered pool. Regular use can prevent metal stains
- Lo-Chlor Metal Gone or TropiClear Metal Out
